We recently had three bathrooms completely remodeled at our house. We arranged to have the work done on all of our bathrooms as one event, then completing all the work for each bathroom before moving onto the next bathroom. The very first part of our remodel project was to meet with our contractor, he asked lots and lots of questions about what we envisioned for each bathroom and what amenities, colors, cabinetry, glass shower doors, toilets, lighting, tile, shower hardware, flooring, urinal style, walls, paint and anything else that we were going to need to have our remodeled bathrooms turn out phenomenal! We never realized what all of this would entail. I will start with our full bathroom that is off the guest room, It's not used that often but we wanted it to be awesome. First, we had to decide how we wanted the bathroom laid out. We then had to figure out the size shower we wanted, then many decisions regarding the walls, floor, ceiling, lighting, hardware, what type of glass clear, obscure, patterns, handles. That was just for the shower door. We had to do the samething with the tile, did we want it to go all the way to the ceiling, did we want the shower ceiling tiled. What type of light, what kind of shower head, either fixed or handheld, how many extra shower spray heads we wanted and where we wanted them each located, measuring ourselves so we put them in the best possible location for ourselves. So we made our choices on all of the options, including scald guards, and sliding switching hand held shower head and one fixed shower head. This was just the shower then we had the rest of the bathroom to complete, from sink choices, faucets, cabinetry, mirror selection, lighting, ceiling fan, heat lamp, towel racks and hooks, our flooring choices. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, then our contractor told us the size to get our cabinets made, so off to lafata cabinets to make our choices from stain color, finish, wood type, drawers or no drawers, which way did we want the doors to open, if we wanted the cabinetry finished on both side ends. We placed our order with them, and had to wait about three weeks for our custom cabinetry to be made. Next stop the plumbing and fixture shop, we found the toilet, sink, faucet, shower equipment, towel bars that we wanted in the color, finish and styles we wanted. Then to pick out flooring, paint, mirror, that kind of stuff. Our contractor made arrangements for the demolition crew, electrician, plumber, tile guys, installers, painters, glass and mirror guys, drywall guys. So the demolition work begins, our special order stuff is being delivered. The individual trade guys brought their own supplies or used the ones we had or. Work was on its way to being completed, we had a couple of things that had to be fixed. The shower pan had a leak, the tile on the wall cracked and broke when they were installing the glass shower door. Our contractor arranged and had those problems fixed or replaced. The only issues that I had was all the dirt, dust and trash was unbelievable even with our whole house electronic air cleaner nothing seemed to help. This was the easiest bathroom that they did first, the next two were going to be much more challenging for them. After about another four month's the other two bathrooms were done. The holdups on time was due to my special order items, and changes I made as the remodel was going on, this ended up costing about $20,000 for all three bathrooms, the work, materials and other items we purchased. Our bathrooms greatly exceeded our expectations, and gave us our own retreats, oasises, and spas. It's like having your own little peace of heaven right here at home. Our contractor was awesome,p from how he worked with us, to how he worked with his crew. He also oversaw the work being done and that it was percise and done perfectly. Debbie and Charlie
